About RawHyde

Jim Hyde started the business of RawHyde Adventures in the spring of 2002 with only 1 idea; and that was an 8 day dual sport tour from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The tour was nearly a thousand mile (off road) adventure through the Mojave Desert, touching all the dramatic places that have made the Mojave a sought after "adventure" destination for travelers from all over the planet.

In 2004 as our tour program matured we began our acclaimed "Adventure Camp" training program. In two short years we became the #1 Enduro training facility in the country, and we proudly maintain that position today.

In spring of 2005 we branched out further offering a series of fun special events we call Adventure Rallies. They became a big hit because they are an inexpensive and classy way to enjoy the great outdoors in the company of fellow adventurers.

2007 brought new training programs, in the form of "intermediate and advanced curriculums" and the amazing "Adventure Riders Challenge."

In 2008 we were officially endorsed by BMW motorrad North America and we became an official BMW training center. The BMW Off Road Academy is one of only 9 places in the entire world where you can learn to ride a BMW GS the way it was meant to be ridden. We are very proud to be a part of the BMW family of training centers.

RawHyde Adventures - The BMW Off Road Academy

The undisputed leader for "Adventure Rider" training in the USA.

Would you like to improve your off road riding capabilities? Adventure Camp is just the thing for you. Beginner or experienced riders will find that we have ways of improving your skills with our carefully structured off-road curriculum. Adventure Camp will give you the tools, knowledge, and the skills to safely take your bike on a real adventure anywhere in the world.

RawHyde offers 3 levels of Adventure Training:

Intro to Adventure

The Intro to Adventure program is for experienced street riders who want to get comfortable riding in the dirt. We start with the basics and move up from there. Our 500 acre facility is designed to give you an opportunity to explore your limits with the "big bikes" in a safe and controlled environment under the watchful eye of experienced professional instructors.

The Next Step

The "Next Step" program is a direct follow up to the "Intro" program and provides our clients with confidence building experiences that reinforce the basics and allow the rider to learn where their boundaries are when it comes to riding a GS in an off road environment.

The Expedition CV

The Expedition CV program is a real world ride that puts it all together. It is a 5 day experience focusing on trail riding with a "fully loaded" bike. As you might imagine trail riding with a load is a completely different experience from riding without luggage in a structured class environment. We use trail situations as the classroom, and the learning continues in the real world. This program also emphasizes GPS navigation at a high level.
